BOSTON – The Boston University women’s lacrosse team hosts its second straight ranked opponent on Wednesday (March 6) when No. 13/13 Dartmouth comes to Nickerson Field. Opening draw between the Terriers and the Big Green is set for 3 p.m.

Wednesday’s game marks the 17th meeting between the two New England schools and the 15th straight season they will meet on the field. Dartmouth owns an 11-5 all-time advantage in the series and has claimed two of the last three meetings.

Last season, the Big Green notched an 13-6 victory over the Terriers in Hanover, N.H. BU’s last win over Dartmouth was on March 9, 2011, when the Terriers triumphed, 9-7, at Nickerson Field.

The Terriers are coming off a 9-8 overtime victory over No. 14/12 Massachusetts in BU’s season opener last week and are now receiving votes in the IWLCA Poll as well as the deBeer Media Poll.

The Terriers were paced by a pair of goals each from senior Danielle Etrasco and sophomore Jenna Boarman. Junior Becca Church tallied a team-high three points (1g, 2a) in the victory. Fellow juniors Sydney Godett and Elizabeth Morse, senior Kristen Mogavero, along with freshman Sofia Robins, also found the back of the net for BU.

Junior goalkeeper Christina Sheridan made six saves in net for BU and tied senior Monica Baumgartner for the team lead with three ground balls. Robins and Sheridan also caused three turnovers each.

Etrasco is one point shy of moving into the top 10 of BU’s career scoring leaders. The senior currently has 171 points (135g, 36a) and needs just one more point to tie Jenny Hauser (172) for 10th all-time in program history.

Dartmouth arrives in Boston with a 3-0 record and most recently defeated Yale, 10-6, for its first Ivy League win of the season. The Big Green also own wins over Oregon (8-7) and fellow America East member New Hampshire (11-10).

Hana Bowers leads Dartmouth so far this season with nine goals and four assists while Liz Calby is just behind her with eight tallies and four assists. Kelsey Johnson has gathered a team-high 11 ground balls while forcing five turnovers.

Kristen Giovanniello has started all three games in goal for the Big Green and has allowed 7.42 goals per game while stopping .395 percent of the shots she has faced.

Following Wednesday’s game, BU will hit the road for a pair of games over Spring Break. The Terriers first stop will be in South Bend, Ind., on Saturday (March 9) to take on No. 10/6 Notre Dame. Opening draw is set for 3 p.m.
