BOSTON – Continuing their debut season, the Boston University women's lightweight rowing team competed in the Charles River Lightweight Invite on Sunday. The varsity eight boat finished fourth in their race, while the novice fours defeated boats from Princeton and Harvard-Radcliffe, finishing first in their race by open water.
The lightweight fours, coxed by sophomore Christiana Mecca and stroked by freshman Molly Constantine, defeated second place Harvard by 16 seconds. Later in the morning, the varsity eight boat, coxed by sophomore Katie Scott and stroked by classmate Carol Chase Peterson, finished behind Harvard, Stanford and Princeton.
The lightweights will now prepare for the Eastern Sprints on May 5, in Collingswood N.J.
