BOSTON - For the first time in program history, the Boston University women’s basketball team will host Bucknell on Saturday (Jan. 25) at Case Gym. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network.

Saturday is the first-ever meeting between BU and Bucknell. The Terriers (7-13, 2-5 Patriot League) are looking to get back in the win column after a 63-56 defeat by American on Wednesday night while Bucknell (10-7, 5-2) has won five of its last six games, including a 67-60 victory at Loyola in its last outing.
Since entering the starting lineup on Jan. 19 at Loyola, junior Mollie McKendrick and sophomore Clodagh Scannell have elevated their games. Scannell has scored in double-digits in four straight games and notched her first career double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds against American on Wednesday.
McKendrick has bounced back from an injury to average 9.0 ppg and 6.5 rpg in her last four outings, including a career-high 18 points along with 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the season on Wednesday night.
Senior Rashidat Agboola continues to lead the team with 11.8 ppg and 7.3 rpg and needs four points to become the 22nd player in program history to score 1,000 career points. Classmate Danielle Callahan is second on the squad with 10.4 ppg and is one assist away from dishing out 100 helpers this season.
The Terriers average 61.2 ppg while allowing 66.9 ppg. BU is shooting 36.4 percent from the field and 31.5 percent from beyond the arc while ranking second in the Patriot League with 7.2 3-pointers per game.
Audrey Dotson ranks second in the Patriot League with 17.9 ppg and is shooting 50.0 percent from the field to lead Bucknell. Shelby Romaine (13.9 ppg) and Claire DeBoer (10.6) also average double-digits in scoring for the Bison while Dotson is the team’s top rebounder with 7.6 rpg.
The Bison average 67.4 ppg while shooting 40.3 percent from the floor and 30.8 percent from beyond the arc .Bucknell excels from the charity stripe, leading the Patriot League with a 74.4 free throw percentage while averaging 17.3 shots from the stripe per game.
Aaron Roussell is in his second season as head coach at Bucknell. He previously spent eight years as the head coach at the University of Chicago, where he compiled a 161-50 (.763) record.
BU closes out the first half of Patriot League action on Wednesday (Jan. 29) when the Terriers travel to West Point, N.Y., to take on Army. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network.
