IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Boston University golf team competed at the 54-hole Diane Thomason Invitational hosted by the University of Iowa this past weekend at Finkbine Golf Course.
The Terriers, competing at an event hosted by a Big Ten school for the first time in program history, placed seventh in the 13-team field. BU combined for a two-day total of 958 (331-318-309); the team improved by 13 strokes in Saturday's second round before finishing with its strongest round on Sunday.
Junior Emily Tillo was the Terriers' top finisher, firing a 237 (80-81-76) to tie for 21st. Senior Kristyna Pavlickova posted a 239 (84-77-78) to tie for 26th while classmate Flor Canedo (83-84-77) and sophomore Adela Cejnarova (84-78-82) finished tied for 47th with a 244. Freshman Phyllis Tang was one stroke back of that duo with a score of 245 (85-82-78).
BU will conclude its fall schedule at the 54-hole Courtyard Classic hosted by Jacksonville University on Oct. 13 and 14.
