ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--Led by Mollie McKendrick's career-high 21 points, the Boston University women's basketball team battled Stephen F. Austin to a 62-57 victory on Saturday night in The Pit. With the win, the Terriers improve to a 3-3 record as the Ladyjacks fall to 3-3 on the year.

McKendrick tallied a double-double with 11 boards and went 9-of-13 from the field while Sarah Hope had another big night, scoring 15 points, grabbing seven rebounds and handing out four assists. Meghan Green also scored in double figures with 13 points on the night.

Hope's performance throughout the tournament got her a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

The Terriers shot 44 percent from the field, its highest mark so far this season, and held SFA to 29.7 percent overall. BU was stingy with fouls, allowing the Ladyjacks to take just six free throws.

Tierany Henderson led SFA with 19 points and the Terriers limited Porsha Roberts to eight points, her first game of the year without a double-figure finish.

After getting off to a slow start, the Terriers took the lead with 14:30 to play off of a three-point play by McKendrick, her first points of the night. The advantage was short lived, however, as the Ladyjacks went on a 9-2 run over the next 4:24 to take a seven point lead, their largest of the game. The Terriers kept the pressure on, however, and were able to cut the SFA advantage to four points going into halftime.

BU didn't waste any time getting back its lead as McKendrick scored the first six points of the second half to get ahead of the Ladyjacks. After some back-and-forth play, the Terriers took the lead with 15 minutes to play, which they did not relinquish.

BU went on a 10-2 run midway through the second period to take its largest lead of the game, a ten-point margin. SFA kept it interesting, however, and cut the lead back down to one point with one minute remaining in the game.

BU made an important stop in their defensive end to take possession and force the Ladyjacks to resort to fouling the rest of the way, ultimately giving BU a five-point victory.

The Terriers are back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at home in Case Gym when they take on New Hampshire at 5:30 p.m.
