Church and sophomore Jill Horka (6g) are both riding four-game point streaks entering Saturday’s contest.
Church has made her presence felt all over the field, as she is second on the team with 13 ground balls and the team leader with nine caused turnovers. Fellow senior Nell Burdis has won a team-high 14 draw controls for the Terriers.
Freshman Caroline Meegan has started the last six games in goal for BU and owns 11.48 goals-against average with a .395 save percentage. Senior Christina Sheridan played the final 10 minutes of action against the Crusaders on Wednesday after missing the previous five games due to injury.
Navy, the four-time defending Patriot League champion, is undefeated so far this season. The Mids are led by junior Loren Generi who ranks first in the NCAA in points (61), points per game (6.88) and assists (29) while scoring a team-high 32 goals so far this season. Senior Aimee Gennaro is second on the squad with 31 points (24g, 7a) while classmate Jill Coughlin also has 24 goals.
Junior goalkeeper Annie Foky leads the nation with a 5.27 goals-against average and helps the Mids boast the second-best scoring defense in the NCAA (5.38 points allowed per game).
BU will return to Nickerson Field next Wednesday (March 26) and take a break from Patriot League play to host Yale in a non-conference match-up. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network.
