Senior Ally Alfonso earned SGI/NFHCA Scholar of Distinction honors for the second time in as many years and was one of four members of the Boston University field hockey team to be named to the SGI/NFHCA National Academic Squad.

Alfonso, sophomore Katie Bernatchez and freshmen Bea Baumberger Altirriba and Ellie Landsman were all selected to the National Academic Squad for having a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year.

For maintaining a grade-point average of 3.90 or higher, Alfonso joined 81 other Division I field hockey players as Scholars of Distinction. Nine players from the Patriot League earned the honor.

BU was also one of 72 teams to earn an SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award for having a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
