BOSTON – The Boston University women’s lacrosse team continues its six-game road swing to open the season when the Terriers travel to Hanover, N.H., to play Dartmouth on Wednesday (March 5). Opening draw is set for 3 p.m. at Scully-Fahey Field.

BU and Dartmouth have met every season since 2000 and 17 times overall. The Big Green holds a 12-5 advantage in the all-time series including a 12-7 victory last season at Nickerson Field. BU’s last win over Dartmouth was during the 2011 season, the Terriers posted a 9-7 triumph on March 9 at home.

The Terriers opened the season facing three top-10 opponents and own a 0-3 record after being edged by No. 10/11 Massachusetts, 11-8, last Wednesday in Amherst, Mass. Sophomore Sofia Robins led BU in the game with three goals while junior Lindsay Weiner had three points off of a goal and two assists.

Weiner leads BU with seven points (2g, 5a) through three games while redshirt sophomore Mallory Collins has scored at least one goal in every game this season to lead the team with six tallies. Junior Kelsey Marafioti is second on the squad with four goals while freshman Taylor Hardison has accounted for three goals and a trio of assists.

Senior Christie Hart has led the BU defensive unit with nine ground balls and four caused turnovers while midfielder Becca Church has recorded a team-high six takeaways. Fellow senior Sydney Godett leads the Terriers with five draw controls.

Freshman Caroline Meegan has played the last two games in goal for the Terriers and has 24 saves on the season. She owns a 14.43 goals against average with a .381 save percentage.

Dartmouth is 2-1 on the season with wins over New Hampshire (15-7) and UConn (14-11) while the Big Green dropped its Ivy League opener to Yale, 12-5, last Saturday.

Junior Sarah Byrne leads Dartmouth with 15 points including a team-high 13 goals along with two assists. Senior Liz Calby is second on the squad with nine goals and three assists while sophomore Jaclyn Leto has four goals and a pair of helpers.

Freshman midfielder Lauren Maiorano leads the Big Green on defense with five caused turnovers and six ground balls while Byrne owns a team-high 16 draw controls.

Senior Kristen Giovanniello has played all three games in goal for Dartmouth and allowed 10 goals per game. She has owns a .464 save percentage.

The Terriers will play their first-ever Patriot League game on Saturday (March 8) when BU visits Washington, D.C. to face American. The game is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network.
