BOSTON – For its final road game of the regular season, the Boston University women’s lacrosse team will make the short trip to Cambridge, Mass., to play Harvard in a non-conference match-up on Wednesday (April 15) at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

The Terriers (6-8, 4-3 Patriot League) look to return to their winning ways after dropping their last three games, including a 19-8 defeat by No. 14 Loyola Maryland, BU’s sixth ranked opponent of the season. Harvard (7-5, 3-2 Ivy League) most recently had its three-game winning streak snapped with a 15-6 loss to Princeton last Saturday.

Wednesday marks the 22nd all-time meeting between the local rivals with the Crimson holding a slight 11-10 advantage. BU snapped Harvard’s two-game win streak in the series last season when Sydney Godett scored with 11 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Terriers to a 12-11 victory on March 29, 2013 at Nickerson Field.

BU enters its final road game of the regular season with eight players registering at least 10 points this season. Junior Lindsay Weiner leads the Terriers in points (26) and assists (14) while senior Becca Church has a team-high 19 goals. Classmate Elizabeth Morse is second on the squad with 18 tallies while sophomore Jill Horka (16g, 4a) has posted at least one point in 11 straight games.

Horka is also the team leader in ground balls (27), draw controls (23) and caused turnovers (20). Only four players have started all 14 games for BU while eight Terriers have seen action in every game this season.

Senior Christina Sheridan and freshman Caroline Meegan have been splitting time in goal for BU. Sheridan started both games last week and has appeared in seven games this season with a 10.85 goals against average and .368 save percentage. Meegan has started 11 of the 13 contests she has played in and owns an 11.03 goals against average coupled with a .426 save percentage.

Harvard is led by freshman Maria Romeo who leads the Ivy League with 3.25 goals per game with a total of 39 tallies this season. She also leads the Crimson with 45 points. Sophomores Alexis Nicolia (17g, 7a) and Audrey Todd (19g, 4a) along with freshman Megan Hennessey (16g, 7a) have all eclipsed the 20-point mark for Harvard.

Sophomore Kelly Weis has played every minute in goal for the Crimson and has allowed 9.63 goals per game with a .477 save percentage.

The Terriers will play its final Patriot League game of the regular season on Saturday (April 19) when BU hosts Bucknell for Senior Day. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and the Terriers will honor seniors Nell Burdis, Becca Church, Sydney Godett, Christie Hart, Elizabeth Morse and Christina Sheridan in a ceremony prior to the game.
