BROOKLINE, Mass. - In a physical, up-tempo contest featuring six combined yellow cards, senior Dominique Badji scored a goal and assisted on the game winner to help the Boston University men's soccer team claim a hard-fought 2-1 victory at Northeastern Tuesday night. With their first win at Parsons Field since 2004, the Terriers improve to 4-2-0, while the Huskies fall to 2-4-0 after dropping their first home game of the season.

Junior Richie Robinson notched his second assist of the year when he sent a cross into the box for Badji to blast past Jonathan Thuresson in the 16th minute. The Terriers held the lead for 41 minutes until they were called with holding inside the box when Northeastern was about to attempt a free kick from 35 yards out.

Simon Cox converted the penalty kick into the top left corner of the net to tie the game at 1-1 and give the Huskies the momentum. Badji helped swing the pendulum back in the other direction though in the 69th minute by feeding freshman David Amirani for a low shot through Thuresson's legs.

Finishing with four saves in the game, senior Nick Thomson stopped a quick attempt by the Huskies' Ackim Mpofu from a few yards out in the final seconds to preserve the victory. Thuresson recorded two saves, highlighted by a leaping stop of Badji's blast that sent the ball over the crossbar at 61:15.

Northeastern only attempted four shots in the first half but doubled its efforts in the second trying to find the equalizer. The Huskies finished with a 14-7 advantage in shots and 4-3 edge in corners, as the Terriers ended the game with 16 fouls against Northeastern's 10. The backline though held strong to help BU improve to 20-7-1 in the all-time series.

After posting their second consecutive multi-goal performance, the Terriers will next return home and host Princeton on Saturday (Sept. 20) at 4 p.m.
