WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Boston University women's soccer team used a 2-0 win at Army West Point to clinch the 2015 Patriot League Regular Season Championship on Wednesday afternoon. This is the first time BU has won a solo-regular season Patriot League crown.

The Terriers (9-5-3, 7-0-1 PL) collected their fourth-straight shutout and have not allowed a goal for the last 386 minutes while the Black Knights (4-11-2, 2-4-2 PL) look to stay eligible for the Patriot League Tournament, which BU will host for the first time on Nov. 6 and 8.

Game times have not yet been determined for the semifinal (Nov. 6) and final rounds of the tournament. Check back on GoTerriers.com for more information in the coming days.

BU women's soccer is the second BU team to clinch a 2015 PL regular season title--by just a few hours, as the field hockey team took a 6-0 win against Bucknell earlier on Saturday to become the conference champions. The two teams are a combined 13-0-1 in Patriot League games this season.

Reigning Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week Alyssa Parisi collected her sixth shutout of the season and fourth straight to help the Terriers to the win. The senior also extends her unbeaten streak to 10 games.

Freshman Julianna Chen had a three-point game while classmate McKenna Doyle scored her sixth goal of the season.

Both teams got off to a slow start and neither got a shot off for the first ten minutes of the contest. Once they got in a rhythm, however, the pair exchanged tries for the ensuing eight minutes.

The offensive efforts began to slow midway though the opening period, however, and the only shot taken by either team for the next 15 minutes was saved by Parisi.

The Terriers finally broke the scoreless game in the 36th minute when Chen sent a through ball past the Black Knight defense that Doyle met after beating two defenders. She took a shot that the Army goalie got a foot on but her diving attempt didn't redirect it wide enough and the ball trickled past the right post to make it a 1-0 BU lead.

BU kept the pressure on throughout the final minutes of the first half but the score stayed at 1-0 by halftime despite three shots in the last five minutes.

The Terriers got an opportunity early in the second half when Erika Kosienski drew a foul inches outside of the box to set up a free kick but Rachel Bloznalis was too strong on her attempt and sent it high over the net.

BU made it a two-goal advantage early in the second half, this time Chen finding the back of the net. Kosienski's turning shot caused the goalie to dive and tip it out of bounds, setting up a corner for the Terriers. Though the first corner was punched out of bounds, the second attempt had clean service from Bloznalis' foot to Chen's head to make it a two-goal game.

The Terriers were awarded two more free kicks just outside of the box throughout the rest of the second half but BU was unable to convert any more set pieces. A play from 25-yards out was intercepted by the Army defense and service from the right side set up a play that ended in a Lauren MacLellan header that was saved by the Black Knight goalie.

Army put the pressure on in the final ten minutes and came up with two close calls that almost cost Parisi the shutout. A loose ball in front of the net was found by a Black Knight but she rushed the shot and it sailed over the crossbar.

A few minutes later, the Black Knights set up a play from the top of the box and sent a shot that would have tucked into the net had Parisi not gotten a hand on it at the last second to punch it clear of the goal.

Shots were equal at 14-14 but the Terriers outshot Army 8-4 on net. The Black Knights had more opportunities from the corner, 8-6, but their 16 fouls proved helpful for BU's offense.

Parisi made four saves throughout the match while Army West Point's Jordan Cassalia made six stops.
