CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were both picked to finish in third place at the Patriot League Championships, the conference announced this week. Reigning champions Navy was picked to win the conference in both the men’s and women’s championships.

The women’s team beat out Lehigh, who was nipping at the Terrier’s heels at the 2015 PL Championship, for third place on the list, which is voted on by Patriot League coaches and a representative from each member school. They were also four votes shy of a second place finish while the men’s team was seven votes ahead of Bucknell and 17 votes behind Army West Point in the standings.

Last year both of the BU squads finished in third place overall at the Patriot League Championships. The men’s team tallied 536 points behind Navy (915) and Army West Point (642) while the women’s team finished with 489 behind Navy (798) and Bucknell (665).

Lizzie Tillo was named the Women’s Diver of the Meet at the 2015 PL Championships and will return this season as a Terrier captain. She is joined in the leadership role by Stephanie Nasson, who earned a conference crown in the 1650 free, and Bianca Tocci.

On the men’s side, BU returns their top point scorer and All-PL First Team member Mun Hon Lee, who will captain the squad this season alongside Tanner Cridland and Eric Mitchell.

The Terriers begin competition on Saturday, Oct. 10 with a trip to Patriot League rival Lehigh. The meet will begin at 1 p.m.
