SAN ANTONIO - The Boston University golf team completed its second round at the NCAA Women's Golf Regional hosted by Briggs Ranch Golf Club on Friday.
BU enters the final round in 17th place after combining to card a 315 for a two-day total of 619. After beginning on the 10th tee at 8:24 in overcast conditions, the Terriers avoided any rain until 1:30, when a two-hour, 41-minute lightning delay began as they were scattered on the seventh, eighth and ninth holes. BU eventually finished just before 5:00.
Freshman Phyllis Tang continued to shine in her NCAA debut, carding a two-over 74. Junior Emily Tillo also matched her opening-round score with a three-over 75. The Jacksonville, Florida, native was one-under over the final nine holes, thanks in part to a birdie putt immediately following the weather delay.
Sophomore Adela Cejnarova fired an 80 on Friday, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole. She is tied for sixth with a score of -4 on par-5s this week. Fellow Czech Republic native Kristyna Pavlickova finished with a 78, improving upon her Thursday score by three shots, but a rules controversy resulted in a DQ for her second round. She is eligible to play on Saturday, however. Junior Sarah Easton totaled an 85.
The Terriers will tee off at 9:09 CT on Saturday morning.
