BOSTON--Second half shooting and success from long range put the Colgate women's basketball team past Boston University on Wednesday night in Case Gym, 72-63. The Raiders (4-13, 2-5 PL) went 5-for-10 from beyond the arc in the second half to seal a victory over the Terriers (1-17, 1-6 PL).

Kara Sheftic recorded the second double-double of her career, scoring 12 points and grabbing a personal-best 13 rebounds, including eight offensive boards. Payton Hauck and Meghan Doogan each scored career-highs, with Hauck tallying 10 points on the night and Doogan finishing with 11 points. Green rounded out the BU career performances with four steals on the night, doubling her previous high.

Sheftic's eight offensive boards helped the Terriers total 22 as a team, the most since Feb. 8, 2012 when the Terriers collected the same number at Maine. The 22 second chances only led to 12 points, however, which contributed to the point differential down the stretch.

Corrine Williams led the team in scoring, tallying a career-high 16 points on the night and was one rebound shy of a double-double. Her point total led BU's four double-digit scorers.

The Raiders finished with a 41.1 shooting percentage, bolstered by a strong showing in the second half, during which Colgate shot 56.5 percent from the field. Katie Curtis led the Raiders with 20 points, bolstered by a 4-of-6 showing from beyond the arc.

The first half of the game was kept close, with the score never separating by more than six points. The lead changed eight times and was tied three times throughout the half, leading two just a two-point Colgate lead going into the break.

BU tied it up to open the third quarter but Colgate scored the next five to start to pull away from the Terriers. An 8-2 run through the middle of the third quarter gave the Raiders their largest lead up until that point, 41-33, and would ultimately allow Colgate to keep BU at arms length for the remainder of the contest.

The Raiders went on to score the first eight points of the fourth quarter and the lead would seal the Terriers' fate despite a late try to cut into the deficit.

BU is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 23 at Bucknell. The Terriers and Bison are set for a 4 p.m. tip, which will be aired live on the Patriot League Network.
