Highlighted by junior Cameron Williams' record-breaking performance in the 200 meter dash, the Boston University men's track & field team continued their indoor season at the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Saturday.
Competing at the TTC against a large and deep field of 180 competitors in the 200m, Williams finished with the fastest time among collegians with a blistering mark of 20.88. The time broke the Boston University record of 21.04 set by Williams last season at the Last Chance Meet in March. Williams finished second behind only Team Nike member and Olympic bronze medalist Lalonde Gordon, who finished with a time of 20.78. Saturday marked the second time Williams broke his own school record in the 200m after originally setting a new school mark of 21.20 at the BU Season Opener back in December 2014. His time 20.88 is 8th best in the nation.
Williams' record-breaking day was one of several great performances for the Terriers. Earlier in the meet, competing in the 800 meters, junior Ethan Homan finished second out of a field of 145 runners with personal-best time of 1:48.36.
Two Terriers also recorded personal best times in the 1-mile event. Competing in an incredible field that feautured seven sub-four minute miles, freshman Alexander Seal continued his impressive rookie campaign, finishing 11th with a time of 4:01.62. Seal's time was the 15th best time in the nation. Junior Matti Groll took 15th with a personal-best time of 4:05.13
Senior David Lagerberg set a personal best in the 400m with a time of 47.01, good for fourth place overall. In the same event, freshman Robie Webster continued his strong start, finishing 14th with a personal-best time of 48.31. Earlier in the meet Webster had another strong performance, finishing 8th in the 60 meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.19.
In the field, top performers included junior David Oluwadara who finished 2nd in the triple jump (15.82m, 51' 11") and 6th in the long jump (7.06 meters, 23' 2"). Oluwadara's triple jump mark of 15.82 was the 17th best jump in the nation and second-best all time for a Terrier. Senior Ethan Knight, who took 8th in the shot put with a 16.21 meter (53' 2.25") effort.
Late in the meet, senior Kevin Thomas ran a 8:03.55 in the 3000 meters to finish 12th while the 4x400 relay team finished in 17th place in a field of 52 with a time of 3:19.04.

The Terriers next compete on Friday, Feb. 5 at the Harvard Invite before hosting the Scarlett and White Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 6 at BU's Track and Tennis Center.
