BU (1-0-0, 1-0-0 WHEA) last played on Sunday, Sept. 25, when the Terriers topped Providence, 5-2, in their home opener. Friday's game be the second of three straight league tilts to open the season.

The Terriers have won 11 straight games against the Wildcats and own an 18-14-3 all-time record against UNH. BU is 10-6-1 against New Hampshire at home and has not lost to UNH at Walter Brown since Feb. 3, 2011. A strong offense has been a big reason for the 11-game win streak, as the Terriers have scored at least four goals against UNH in each of the last seven meetings with the Wildcats.

Senior Samantha Sutherland and sophomore Sammy Davis each lead the Terriers with three points after Davis assisted on all three of Sutherland's markers in the 5-2 win over Providence. Graduate student Mary Parker opened her BU account with her first goal in Scarlet and White while senior Maddie Elia's power-play goal late in the third period extended the Terrier lead to 4-2.

Special teams played an important role in Sunday's game as the teams combined for 21 penalties. BU was 2-of-9 on the power play, but more importantly was a perfect 7-of-7 on the penalty kill, including a 21-second stretch of 5-on-3 time with the Friars only down a goal midway through the third period. Providence went 0-for-4 on the power play in the final frame, with senior Victoria Hanson making seven stops during those opportunities as part of her 34-save performance to help preserve the lead.

UNH is 0-2 after being swept at No. 7/8 Colgate last weekend (4-2, 3-1). Junior defenseman Julia Fedeski leads the team with two goals while senior forward Jonna Curtis has two assists. Sophomore Taylor Wenczkowski added the other Wildcat goal. Sophomores Kyra Smith and Hilary Cashin each earned a start between the pipes. Each netminder allowed three goals, with Smith stopping 38 shots to Cashin's 32 saves.

Following Friday's fixture, BU will head to Vermont for a date with the Catamounts on Sunday at 2 p.m.
