The No. 9/10 Boston University women's ice hockey team will begin a four-game road trip on Sunday when the Terriers travel to Burlington to face Vermont at Gutterson Fieldhouse. Game time is set for 2 p.m.

BU (2-0-0, 2-0-0 WHEA) is looking to begin the season with three straight wins. The Terriers topped New Hampshire, 5-1, on Friday night at Walter Brown Arena. It was a balanced scoring attack, with four different skaters lighting the lamp. Senior Samantha Sutherland scored two more goals to bring her season total to five while sophomore Sammy Davis added three more assists. Davis now leads the nation in assists (3.0) and points (3.0) per game while Sutherland is tops in the land with an average of 2.50 goals per game.

The Terrier penalty kill has been terrific in two games this year, having held opponents to an 0-of-11 mark on the power play. BU held Providence to an 0-of-7 mark in the home opener before keeping UNH scoreless on four power-play attempts Friday.

Sunday's showdown will be the sixth meeting in the calendar year between BU and Vermont. The teams met twice in January at UVM before a three-game Hockey East quarterfinal series at Walter Brown Arena in February, which the Terriers won thanks to a 6-1 victory in the deciding game three. BU is 8-0-1 in its last nine games against the Catamounts and owns a 28-6-4 all-time record against Vermont.

The Catamounts began their season 1-0 after a 5-1 victory at Union on Tuesday. The line of Mackenzie MacNeil, Eve-Audrey Picard and Victoria Andreakos was terrific, as MacNeil and Picard each scored twice while Andreakos picked up a pair of assists. Madison Litchfield made the start between the pipes for UVM and stopped 21 of the 22 shots she faced.

After Sunday's game, BU will head to Penn State for the first time in program history for a two-game series against the Nittany Lions.
