HOW IT HAPPENED

  • 2016 ACC All-Rookie Team forward Mariella Fasoula recorded 12 points and helped limit BU to 23.1 percent shooting after one quarter for a 20-8 lead.
  • Boosted by junior Sophie Beaudry's eight points and three blocks, the Terriers settled down in the second in the battle for control of the paint on both ends and went on a 12-3 run to pull within three (23-20) at 4:20 on junior Meghan Doogan's jumper.
  • BC though caught fire on the perimeter with the help of three 3-pointers to enter the locker room ahead, 36-24.
  • Keyed by senior Sarah Hope's first of three 3-pointers, the Terriers opened the third on a 10-2 run capped by Hope's layup at 3:55.
  • Kelly Hughes' 3-pointer pushed BC's lead back to double-digits (44-34) at 2:12, but BU ended the third on a 7-2 spurt with senior Meghan Green's trey cutting the deficit to five (46-41).
  • After shooting a combined 13-of-24 (.542) over the previous two quarters, BU was held to 2-of-10 in the fourth, while the Eagles shot 54.5 percent with the addition of nine made free throws to seal the win.
GAME NOTES
  • The Eagles edged BU in shooting percentage, 42.0-38.3, and had a 21-9 lead in made free throws.
  • Beaudry was two points shy of her first double-double with 13 rebounds, topping her previous high of seven boards set twice at Monmouth.
  • Draining three 3-pointers, Hope finished with 13 points and moved into a tie for fourth in the BU record book at 172 career treys with BU Hall of Famer Katie Terhune ('04).
  • Highlighted by a pair of 21-point performances from Fasoula and Hughes, BC won its fourth straight in the series and improved to 13-10 all-time.
