BOSTON - The Boston University women's basketball team lost to American, 79-33, on Wednesday night in Bender Arena. Naiyah Thompson matched her career high and led the team with nine points.

The Terriers (2-21, 2-10 PL) look to bounce back on Saturday when they play Loyola Maryland at home in Case Gym at 2 p.m. The game is set to air live on the Patriot League Network.

Courtney Latham had a strong showing, totaling eight points and going 4-of-8 from the field. In addition to Thompson's nine points, the freshman corralled three rebounds and two steals.

American was led by Ari Booth, who totalled 22 points throughout the game. The Eagles shot an impressive 52 percent from the field and capitalized on Terrier turnovers, scoring 28 points off of 21 BU miscues.

The Eagles led from start to finish, jumping out to a 10-0 lead to start the game and continuing to add to it throughout the contest.
