DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Boston University dance team won the Division I Team Performance National Championship in Daytona earlier this month. Competing at the NDA Collegiate National Championships, the team finished first in the finals to claim the Division I Team Performance title, the first in program history.
The BU dance team was one of six programs to reach the finals of Division I Team Performance. The Terriers posted a score of 9.497 to edge University of Missouri Kansas City, which finished with a score of 9.413.
The squad also took second out of seven finalists in Hip Hop Division I with a score of 9.391, just behind champion Steven F. Austin (9.497). The BU dance team won the Hip Hop Division I title back in 2014.
The BU cheer team also had an impressive performance, claiming fifth in the finals of the All-Girl Cheer Division I competition with a score of 89.53, edging out Morgan State (86.68) and Central Connecticut State (84.58). Stephen F. Austin won the title at 93.33.
