Sixteen Terriers Named to WHEA All-Academic Team

June 30, 2016

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – A program-record 16 Boston University women's ice hockey players were named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team, the league announced on Thursday.

Each Terrier on the squad achieved a grade-point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two semesters that they competed in during the 2015-16 season.  BU has now placed 10 or more players on the All-Academic squad four times and bested the previous record of 11 players set at the end of the 2009-10 campaign.

Seven Terriers are making a repeat appearance on the team, including Kayla Tutino and Victoria Hanson, who each made the squad for a third time. Alexis Crossley, Jordan Juron, Sarah Lefort, Lillian Ribeirinha-Braga, Anna Streifel and Alexis Woloschuk all earned the distinction for a second time.

Among the first-time honorees are two freshmen, as Sammy Davis and Mary Grace Kelley were named to the list. Other newcomers to the squad are Ashlyn Aiello, Natalie Flynn, Erin O'Neil, Sarah Steele, Samantha Sutherland and Dakota Woodworth.

The Terriers' 16 representatives on the team are the most of any of the four Hockey East tournament semifinalists.
