BU Drops 2-0 Decision At Hofstra

BOSTON—The Boston University women's soccer team was unable to overcome a two-goal deficit and dropped a 2-0 decision to Hofstra on Thursday night at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Both BU and Hofstra put two attempts on goal during the first half but the Pride outshot the Terriers, 13-4, throughout the period.
  • It took just over two minutes into the second half for Hofstra to break open scoring and take a 1-0 lead. The Pride then followed up the goal with another midway though the period.
  • The Terriers turned on the offense throughout the second half, putting seven shots on net and getting off 12 total attempts.
 
GAME NOTES
  • The Terriers were outshot by the Pride, 20-16, throughout the match but Hofstra's shots on goal were limited to just five while the Terriers put nine on net.
  • In her first career start, Hannah Ciolek made a career-high three saves.
  • This is the Pride's first-ever win over the Terriers in the tenth meeting between the schools.

  • BU returns home after a two-game road trip to take on "B-Line" rival Boston College on Sunday night.
