Northeastern Comes Out On Top, 2-0

BOSTON—The Boston University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Northeastern on Thursday night at Nickerson Field. The Terriers begin conference play on Sunday at Bucknell.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Huskies opened scoring in the 29th minute when Hannah Rosenblatt snuck a through ball up to Kayla Cappuzzo, who stayed on-side and scored off an eight-yard shot.
  • Northeastern scored again in the 74th minute with an impressive shot from the left side when Carly Wilhelm managed to evade two defenders, turn and shoot from 12 yards out.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Shots were tied at 12 apiece but the Terriers put more on net, 6-4.
  • Corner kicks were also even, with five earned by both squads.
  • Boston University still leads the all-time series, 11-6-1.

  • "If we take lessons learned, I think these first nine games have prepared us well. There have been a lot of positives coming out of these last nine games and we have certainly seen strides made in our organization and in our attacking style."
