Goals: BU – Shreck (15')

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Colgate dominated possession for the first 10 minutes, however BU was able to take over the game for the ensuing five minutes, getting a pair of shots off before ultimately scoring just under 15 minutes into the contest.
  • Jesse Shreck got the Terriers the lead early in the game when she scored off of an end line pass from Dorrie Varley-Barrett. This is the second straight year she has scored her first of the season against the Raiders, last year netting her first career strike.
  • Possession ebbed and flowed for the remainder of the contest, but the Terriers were able to maintain their composure on defense when it counted the most, leading to their second victory of the season.

GAME NOTES
  • Both sides had an even offensive effort, with the Raiders edging the Terriers in total shots, 14-13. The Terriers totaled more attempts on net, however, with seven on the night compare do Colgate's four.
  • Bridget Conway made three stops throughout the first half while Hannah Ciolek, who relieved Conway at halftime, stopped the one attempt that came her way in the second period.
  • The Terriers remain undefeated against Colgate all time, and improve to a 6-0-1 record against the Raiders. The tie was in the conference tournament, however, and BU advanced with a dominant 4-1 result in penalty kicks.

QUOTEABLE: HEAD COACH NANCY FELDMAN
  • "We haven't ever been a team that relies on one player and I think that is what has made us dangerous in the end. What I loved about that goal is that we created it with this wide combination and had an awesome finish but it's something that we have been working on, getting combination play and being able to play out defenders with that."
  • "Tonight we struggled at times, organizationally. We would bend a little bit but didn't break, which is a good sign. It's a sign of maturity, of composure under pressure."
  • "You've got that win in your pocket but you just move on because the next one you face is just as important as the last one you won because the next one you face, you'll either be below them or above them [in the Patriot League standings] after that matter. They're kind of one game playoffs, that's how we look at it."
  • "It's a quick turnaround, we're back to work tomorrow to prepare for Loyola and we have to go down there and prove that we can win a conference game on the road. That's every bit as important as tonight's win."

NEXT UP: LOYOLA MARYLAND
  • The Terriers hit the road Saturday (Oct. 1) to take on Loyola Maryland, who is undefeated in conference play this year with a 1-0-2 record.
  • First kick is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the Ridley Athletic Complex and the game will be aired live on the Patriot League Network.
