HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a scoreless first half, complete with five attempts for each side, Cincinnati got on the board first when Kyleigh Dominguez netted a 20-yard shot early in the period to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead.
  • With just 14:25 left in regulation, the Terriers found the back of the net when Dorrie Varley-Barrett scored her first goal of the season, rebounding Chelsea Churchill's blocked shot and sending it to the left post to tie the game at 1-1.
  • Despite BU's best efforts, Cincinnati ultimately had another tally added to their column with eight seconds left in the game to give the Bearcats a 2-1 lead that the Terriers would not have time to overcome.

GAME NOTES
  • Cincinnati edged BU on shots, 13-12 but shots on goal were even at six apiece.
  • The Bearcats were awarded nine corners while the Terriers had just three over the course of the game.
  • This was the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

QUOTEABLE: HEAD COACH NANCY FELDMAN
  • "They aren't seeing the outcome they are looking for from all of their hard look but life isn't always fair. I do believe in the end you get what you've earned and I feel like that is going to happen for this team."

NEXT UP: JAMES MADISON
  • The Terriers head to Virginia Tech for two games, first against James Madison on Friday, Sept. 9.
  • First kick is set for 5 p.m. in Blacksburg, Va.
  • BU is 0-2-0 against JMU, but the pair has not met since 1998.
