Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Terriers Cruise, 3-0, at Lafayette

EASTON, Pa. – Behind goals from Jesse Shreck, Anna Heilferty, Shannon Keefe and a dominant performance from the back line, the Boston University women's soccer team earned its fifth straight shutout in a 3-0 decision at Lafayette Sunday afternoon at Oaks Stadium.

Shreck and Heilferty scored midway through the first half, while Keefe put the finishing touches on the game in the 81st minute. The defense smothered Lafayette's attack all game and did not allow the Leopards to get a shot off.

How it Happened
  • Working in transition, McKenna Doyle pushed BU's attack into Lafayette's attacking third before finding Shreck in the middle of the field. From just over 25 yards outs, Shreck took a touch before roping a left-footed strike into the upper 90.
  • Minutes later, Shreck continued to stay hot as she found Anna Heilferty streaking towards the goal on a free kick. Working on an angle, Heilferty pushed the ball into the back right corner to extend the lead.
  • In the waning minutes of the game, Keefe worked a give-and-go with Libby Closson and Chloee Sagmoe before firing a shot just outside the six-yard box that deflected off Lafayette's netminder and trickled into the back of the net for her first score of the season.
Game Notes
  • Shreck netted her second straight game-winning goal against the Leopards, as she previously netted the game-winning goal in last season's 3-0 victory.
