PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Done in by a three-goal second period from the home team, the No. 6 Boston University men's ice hockey team dropped a 3-0 contest at No. 11/10 Providence on Saturday evening at Schneider Arena.
The Terriers move to 3-4-1, falling under .500 for the first time this season, and 1-1-1 in Hockey East play while the Friars improve to 5-2-0 overall with a 2-1-0 league mark.
How It Happened
	- After a scoreless first period, the Friars put three shots past BU netminder Jake Oettinger in the middle stanza.
 
	- Vimal Sukumaran took full advantage of a BU turnover behind its own net, opening the scoring with a wide-open look at the right post 1:53 into the second.
 
	- Providence later scored twice within a minute beginning with a power-play wrister from the left slot by Erik Foley at 11:18 of the middle period.
 
	- Just 53 seconds later, right after another Friars' power play expired, a bid by Brandon Duhaime off a loose puck at the left post snuck underneath Oettinger's right arm and in to push the PC lead to 3-0.
 
Game Notes
	- Providence held a 31-22 shot advantage.
 
	- BU had five power-play chances and killed off five of the Friars' six man-up opportunities. 
 
	- Oettinger made 28 saves for the Terriers while the Friars got a 22-save performance from Hayden Hawkey.
 
	- The Terriers have been outscored 12-5 in the second period this season.
 
	- Freshman Kasper Kotkansalo had a game-high four blocked shots.

	- The two teams will meet again on Friday (Nov. 3) when the Friars make the return trip to Agganis Arena.
