The Boston University women's ice hockey team will begin a four-game road stretch this weekend with a pair of games at Vermont. The conference foes will skate on Friday night at 7 p.m., before concluding the series on Saturday at 4 p.m.

HISTORY WITH THE CATAMOUNTS

  • The Terriers are 28-7-6 all-time against Vermont, including an 11-5-2 record at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
  • BU dropped a 3-2 decision last year at Vermont before settling for a pair of draws (3-3, 1-1) with the Catamounts during a January series in Boston.
  • Last season marked the first time that BU had failed to record a win against Vermont during a season series.

LAST TIME AGAINST VERMONT

  • The Terriers skated to a 3-3 tie with UVM on Jan. 14 at Walter Brown Arena before settling for a 1-1 draw with the Catamounts the following afternoon.
  • The Terriers erased a 3-1 third-period deficit on the 14th, with Sammy Davis notching the first goal with 3:41 to play before Victoria Bach's extra-attacker goal with 1:28 remaining evened the score.
  • Bach also added two assists on the day.
  • In the 1-1 tie, BU scored just 54 seconds into the proceedings before Vermont equalized with 2.1 seconds to play in the second stanza.

BEST OF BU AGAINST VERMONT

  • Victoria Bach leads the Terriers with 17 points against the Catamounts thanks to seven goals and a team-high 10 assists.
  • Rebecca Leslie is next with 16 points, including a team-best 10 goals.
  • Savannah Newton (2a) and Mary Grace Kelley (1g, 1a) also have multiple points to their credit against UVM.
  • Abby Cook and Nina Rodgers each recorded an assist against UVM last year.
  • Erin O'Neil is 1-1-1 against Vermont, including a 3-3 tie at Gutterson Fieldhouse on Jan. 16, 2016.
  • She owns a .904 save percentage and a 2.32 goals-against average in those three starts.

SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS

  • Vermont split a home-and-home series with then-No. 3 Clarkson this past weekend, earning a 3-2 home win on Friday before suffering a 4-0 setback on Saturday afternoon.
  • Junior Alyssa Gorecki, the reigning Hockey East Player of the Week, leads Vermont in both points (12) and assists (8) in addition to her four goals.
  • Sophomore Eve-Audrey Picard is second in points with 10 thanks to a team-high five goals.
  • Six different Catamounts have recorded at least seven points and only three UVM skaters have been held without a point this season.
  • Sophomore goaltender Sydney Scobee has started each of the last seven games and has posted an overall record of 4-4-1 with a 2.41 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage.
  • In those last seven starts, Scobee is 3-3-1 with a 2.53 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage.

BACH REACHES A MILESTONE

  • With her assist on Friday, senior Victoria Bach now has 100 career Hockey East points.
  • She is now tied for eighth all-time in Hockey East scoring and is the active leader in conference points thanks to 53 goals and 47 assists.
  • Bach's 53 league goals are also tied for eighth all-time, five behind 2016 graduate Sarah Lefort.
  • Her 100 league points are the most among a Terrier that spent their entire career at BU.
  • Jenn Wakefield ('12), who played two seasons at New Hampshire, ranks fifth with 121 conference points.

SHOOTING GALLERY

  • BU recorded just 19 shots on goal at Maine on Oct. 20, but since then it's been a different story.

  • BU has fired over 40 shots on goal in each of the last three games and five of its last six contests, including 45 shots on goal in the 2-2 tie with UConn.
  • Overall, BU is second among Division I schools in shots on goal per game, averaging 36.50 per game.
  • The SOG margin for BU is 16.67 per game during that six-game period, which is tied for sixth in the nation.
  • The Terriers have not allowed more than 25 shots on goal over each of their last three games and in four of their last five fixtures.
