The Boston University women's ice hockey team will head to the Washington, D.C., area this weekend for a pair of games against WCHA foes as part of the D1in DC event in Arlington, Virginia. BU will take on Minnesota State on Friday before facing No. 1 Wisconsin on Saturday. Both games will take place at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex, the practice facility of the Washington Capitals.

SCOUTING THE MAVERICKS

  • Minnesota State is on a six-game losing streak, but the Mavericks did play Minnesota Duluth to a pair of one-goal road losses last weekend.
  • They suffered a 2-1 setback on Nov. 17 before losing, 3-2, the next day.
  • Junior Jordan McLaughlin leads MSU in both goals (5) and points (10) while freshman Brittyn Fleming has a team-high seven assists this season.
  • Junior goaltender Kathryn Bidulka has started nine of the 10 games in which she has played, posting a 2.92 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage.

SCOUTING THE BADGERS

  • The 2017 national runners-up are a perfect 16-0-0 this season and come to Washington well-rested, having not played last weekend.
  • They last skated on Nov. 10 and 11 at Cornell, earning a 3-1 win and a 2-1 win over the Big Red.
  • Sophomore Abby Roque leads Wisconsin in both points (19) and assists while senior Claudia Kepler is the team's top goal scorer with nine markers this season.
  • Three players have at least 10 assists but nobody has 10 goals, though 15 different players have lit the lamp.
  • Sophomore goaltender Kristen Campbell has started all 16 games and owns a 0.94 goals-against average and a .951 save percentage.

HISTORY WITH THE BADGERS

  • BU is winless in five matchups with the Badgers, three of which have come in the regular season.
  • This is the second neutral-site game between BU and Wisconsin, as the Badgers bested the Terriers, 5-0, on Nov. 16, 2013.
  • The Terriers and Badgers first met in the 2011 national title game, with Wisconsin earning a 4-1 win.

LAST TIME AGAINST WISCONSIN

  • Victoria Bach notched the Terriers' lone goal in a 5-1 road loss in an NCAA quarterfinal contest on March 14, 2015.
  • Rebecca Leslie assisted on the goal.

BU HAS BEATEN NO. 1 BEFORE

  • The Terriers last defeated a top-ranked team on March 8, 2015, when they bested No. 1 Boston College, 4-1, in the Hockey East title game.
  • BU last played a top-ranked squad on March 6, 2016, when it lost 5-0 to BC.
  • BU does have recent success against top-five teams, however, as it beat No. 2 Minnesota and No. 4 BC last season.

TWO TERRIERS EARN WEEKLY HONORS

Senior Victoria Bach and freshman Corinne Schroeder each took home a weekly award from Hockey East.

• Bach was named Player of the Week while Schroeder was selected as Defensive Player of the week.

• Bach led the NCAA with five goals and finished the weekend with six points.

• Four of those

• Schroeder made 60 saves, including 33 over both third periods, and allowed just two goals on the weekend.

• This was the first time a BU player had been recognized by the league this year.

LESLIE HAD A GREAT WEEKEND, TOO

  • Senior captain Rebecca Leslie led the NCAA with seven points this past weekend thanks to three goals and a nation-best four assists.
  • She scored two of those goals on Saturday in a 3-1 win, including the game-winner in the second stanza.
  • Leslie matched her career high with three assists on Friday and added a goal for a four-point night.

SCHROEDER KEEPS SHINING

  • Freshman goaltender Corinne Schroeder has allowed just five even-strength goals this season and has yet to give up more than two goals in a single game.
  • She leads Hockey East in both save percentage (.946) and goals-against average (1.54).
  • Schroeder leads all NCAA freshmen in both of those categories.
  • She is fourth overall in save percentage and sixth overall in GAA.
  • Schroeder is one of just two qualifying Division I goaltenders (Kristen Campbell, Wisconsin) yet to allow more than two goals in a single game.

KILLING 'EM SOFTLY

  • The Terriers were a perfect 7-of-7 on Saturday, including a 5-of-5 mark in the third period.
  • BU also scored its second shorthanded goal of the year on Friday.
  • On their brief three-game unbeaten streak, the Terriers have killed 14 of 15 power play chances they have faced.
