FINAL RESULTS
BOSTON - Highlighted by five gold medals and yet another record-setting performance by senior
Cameron Williams, the Boston University men's track & field team finished third at the 2017 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championship, which concluded Sunday at the Track and Tennis Center.
Williams broke his own school and Patriot League record in the 200m dash with a winning time of 20.57 seconds, which stands as the fourth-fastest time in the nation this season.
Freshman
Paul Luevano had an amazing performance in the men's 3000m, leading by a wide margin throughout and finishing with a final kick on the last lap to coast to gold with a time of 8:13.12.
BU also took first in the men's distance medley, winning gold with a time of 9:59.98. The medley team of
Johnathon Kemps,
Justin Flynn,
Alexander Seal and
Matti Groll out-dueled Army West Point, which finished second with a time of 10:00.04. In addition to winning gold in the distance medley, Groll won the 1000m run with a time of 2:25.45.
Senior
David Oluwadara won the triple jump for the third consecutive year with his leap of 15.79m (51' 9.75"). Oluwadara also finished fourth in the long jump with a 7.00m (22' 11.75") effort.
Earlier in the meet,
Jason Biesma finished third in the two-day heptathlon multi event with a score of 4735 to earn BU six team points.
Also winning a medal for the Terriers on Saturday was freshman
Brett Davidson, who finished runner-up in Saturday's 5000m run with a time of 14:23.46. The performance was a new personal best time and helped him claim a silver medal and earn eight team points.
As a team, BU finished in third place behind 2017 PL Champion Navy and runner-up Army West Point.
