BOSTON – In it's opening Patriot League matchup with Army, the Boston University women's basketball fell to the Black Knights, 64-52, after a high-octane third quarter Wednesday night at Case Gym.

TURNING POINT
- After Sophie Beaudry hit a pair of free throws to put BU within one, 39-38, with two minutes to go in the third quarter, Army responded with 9-0 run to take a 49-38 lead into the final frame.
- Army extended its run to 20-4 run to put the score at 58-42, putting BU out of reach with 5:11 left to go.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU stayed within two possessions throughout the first quarter, though Army held the early advantage at 14-11 at the end of the opening frame.
- The Black Knights furthered their lead to eight to start the second frame before the Terriers reeled off an 8-0 run to tie it up at 19-19 midway through the second.
- Naiyah Thompson scored her sixth point of the quarter to tie it once again at 23-23Â with 3:39 left in the half, but Army would hold the edge, 28-26, heading into the break.
- Kara Sheftic gave BU its third lead of the game two minutes into the second half, connecting on a floater in the lane to put the score in favor of the Terriers, 31-30.
- BU fought back to make it a 58-50 game with just over a minute left after an 8-0 run, but the 16-point deficit was too much for the Terriers to overcome.

GAME NOTES
- Army scored half of its 28 points in the first half off of turnovers.
- The Black Knights outscored BU 21-12 in the third, scoring 10 of their points from the charity stripe en route to shooting 21-of-27 for the game from the line.
- Beaudry notched her 17th game of the season scoring in double figures with 10 points. The junior has scored in double figures in 14 of 16 Patriot League games.
