EASTON, PA – Boosted by double-digit scoring from five players, the Boston University women's basketball team rolled to a 75-58 win at Lafayette on Saturday.
BU got a lift from freshman guard Vanessa Edgehill who came off the bench in a tight game and gave BU a much-needed spark with 11 points. Sophomore Naiyah Thompson matched her career high with 17 points.

TURNING POINT
- Junior Sophie Beaudry made both free throws to complete a 6-0 Terrier run to turn a 44-44 tie game into a 50-44 lead at the end of three quarters.
- BU came out in the fourth quarter and shot 70% (7-10) and out scored Lafayette, 25-14 in the final stanza to pull away for the 17-point victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU jumped out to an early lead on 3-pointers from senior Sarah Hope and sophomore Naiyah Thompson as Lafayette was forced to call a timeout with 7:44 to play in the first and BU up 10-0.
- BU's lead was 14-0 when Thompson hit a jumper with 6:12 to play in the first but Lafayette would go on an 11-4 run to cut the lead to 18-11 after one quarter.
- Thompson was 3-5 in the first quarter and had 7 points to help BU build the 18-11 lead.
- Junior Anna Ptasinski had six points for Lafayette on 2-3 shooting from beyond the arc to lead Lafayette in the first half as the two teams entered the locker rooms with BU in the lead 37-32.
- Freshman guard Vanessa Edgehill came off the bench to score her first career collegiate points on a 3-pointer with 55 seconds to play in the half to make the score 34-29 and provide a much needed spark in a close game. The Franklin, Mass. native later extend BU's lead to 53-44 with 9 minutes to play in the game with her second three. The Franklin, Mass. native would finish with 11 points to establish a new career high.

GAME NOTES
- BU shot 27-56 (48.2%) from the floor and went 9-16 (56.3%) from beyond the arc while Lafayette was 20-56 (35.7%) and 6-25 (24%) from three.
- The teams were very even on the glass with Lafayette out rebounding BU 36-35.
- The Terriers limited their turnovers to just 13 while the Leopards tuned it over 17 times.
