The Boston University women's ice hockey team will face New Hampshire in a home-and-home series that begins Friday night at the Whittemore Center. The teams will then skate at Walter Brown Arena for the Terriers' annual Do It For Daron game on Saturday at 3 p.m.

For the third straight season, BU will host a "Do It For Daron Mental Health Awareness Day." DIFD is an organization dedicated to raising awareness, inspiring conversations and transforming youth mental health.

With four games remaining in the regular season, The Terriers (13-10-6, 8-8-4 WHEA) and Wildcats (11-15-2, 9-9-2 WHEA) are locked in a tight race for home-ice advantage in the Hockey East quarterfinals. Both BU and UNH are tied with Providence for fourth with 20 points entering the final two weekends of the season. Friday's game can potentially be the Terriers' final road game until the NCAA Tournament, since BU will host the Hockey East championship weekend on March 4 and 5.

The Terriers and Wildcats have not met since Oct. 7, when BU defeated UNH, 5-1, at Walter Brown. Samantha Sutherland scored twice and Sammy Davis recorded three assists in the victory. BU is on a 12-game win streak against New Hampshire dating back to the 2012-13 season and has not lost at home to the Wildcats since 2011.

BU will look to carry some offense from this past Tuesday to its games this weekend, as the Terriers skated to a 6-6 tie with Harvard in the Beanpot consolation game. Three Terriers - Victoria Bach, Maddie Elia and Mary Parker - all tallied three points apiece while Rebecca Leslie and Nina Rodgers each recorded a goal and an assist. Elia became the 12th Terrier to collect 100 points at BU with her third and final point of the night.

Bach currently leads Hockey East with 40 points and is one of just eight skaters in the nation to reach that mark so far this season. Parker is second in the country with 20 goals after twice lighting the lamp on Tuesday. She became the eighth different Terrier in program history to score 20 goals in a season. If Bach gets two more markers, she'll become only the second Terrier (Sarah Lefort) to record 20 goals in three straight seasons.

UNH is winless in its last three games (0-2-1), including a 3-1 loss at Vermont on Feb. 4. The Wildcats' last wins came in a sweep of Maine on Jan. 20 and 21. Senior Jonna Curtis leads the Wildcats in goals (17), assists (15) and points (32), accounting for 25 percent of the team's total goals. Seven other Wildcats have recorded at least 10 points, including freshman Meghara McManus (7g, 7a) and junior Julia Fedeski (6g, 8a).

Sophomore goaltender Hilary Cashin has played the majority of time between the pipes for UNH, recording a 10-6-1 record with a 2.54 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. Cashin has struggled of late, though, sporting a 4.50 GAA and .830 save percentage over her last two appearances. She was pulled in favor of Kyra Smith last Saturday at Vermont. Smith, who started the BU-UNH game in October, is 1-9-1 with a 3.55 GAA and .897 Sv%.

Following this weekend's series, BU will host two more games before the playoffs begin. The Terriers will welcome Northeastern to Walter Brown on Friday, Feb. 17 and then skate against Maine on Sunday, Feb. 19.
