BOSTON - Trailing 6-3 midway through the first half, the Boston University women's lacrosse team reeled off a 14-0 run en route to cruising past Colgate, 18-8, Wednesday evening at Nickerson Field.

CAREER DAYS

- Trailing 6-3 midway with 14:25 left in the opening frame, BU churned in an 8-0 run to close out the half.
- Belval, Donahoe and Jayne each scored two goals apiece during the streak, while Magnelli and Kelly Mathews each found the back of the net as well.
- Caroline Meegan helped hold the Raiders at bay with five of her seven saves in the half during the stretch.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Matthews put BU on the board first, beating the keeper on a free position shot 44 ticks into play.
- Colgate responded with back-to-back goal to take the lead before Mickenzie Larivee ripped a shot into the back of the net and Jayne followed less than 20 seconds after Larivee to reclaim the upper hand for the Terriers at the 20-minute mark.
- Colgate reeled off four straight goals to take a 6-3 lead midway through the half before BU close caught fire with an 8-0 run.
- The Terriers stayed hot to open the second half as Donahoe scored just 29 seconds in and Jayne added her fourth score 22 seconds after Donahoe.
- Magnelli delivered back-to-back goal in a 17-second span before Jayne pushed BU's grasp on the scoreboard to double-digits with her fifth score midway through the closing stanza.
- Magnelli sniped her fourth score on a strong dodge move to cap a 14-0 Terrier run with 8:31 left in regulation.
- Colgate got on the board with 6:27 left, snapping a 45-minute scoring drought, and added another with under four minutes left.
- Christine Carugati capped the rout with her first career score with 2:10 remaining.
GAME NOTES
- The Terriers registered their highest offensive output of the season and highest scoring total against the Raiders in series history.
- BU evened its record to 2-2 against Colgate in Patriot League games and furthered its command to 6-4 in the all-time series.
- Jayne posted her sixth multi-goal game of the season and upped her team lead to 19 goal on the season.
- Meegan finished with nine saves and matched her season-high with a .600 save percentage.
- Mackenzie Howe was dominant on the draw control, securing seven, the most a Terrier has won this season.
