Cejnarova, Terriers Lead after Day One of PL Championship

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -
Senior Adela Cejnarova and the Boston University golf team are atop the individual and team leaderboards after two rounds at the 2017 Patriot League Women's Golf Championship at Saucon Valley Country Club.

Seeking her third consecutive individual title, Cejnarova fired a one-under 71 in the second round to take a five shot lead after 36 holes. She finished with a score of 145 (74-71) and is plus-1 for the tournament.

BU, the 2015 champion, erased a 15-shot first-round deficit to surge past defending champion Richmond. The Terriers combined for a total of 295 in the second round and finished the day at 608 (313-295), two shots ahead of the Spiders (298-312--910). Lehigh, the tournament host, is tied for third with Navy as both schools finished with a score of 632.

Cejnarova finished the day with a tournament-best seven birdies and was the only player in the field to play the par-4s at even par. Five of those birdies came in the second round as she built her lead.

Junior Phyllis Tang is tied for second with a score of 150 (77-73) after she sank five birdies on Saturday. Sophomore Megan Carter began the second round in 10th but shot all the way up to fourth thanks to an even-par 72. She finished the day at 152 (80-72) and also had five birdies. Freshman Zhangcheng Guo is in 19th with a score of 162 (82-80) while classmate Abby Parsons is one shot behind her with a 163 (84-79). 

The Terriers will tee off beginning at 8:40 on Sunday morning, with Cejnarova going out with the final group at 9:20 a.m.
