Promotion Youth Soccer Day

BOSTON – In their first regular-season home game in three weeks, the Boston University men's soccer team will host rival Harvard on Saturday night with action set to begin at 7 p.m. The contest will take place following women's soccer's 1 p.m. matchup against American and the annual alumni game at approximately 4 p.m.

As part of Youth Soccer Day, kids in eighth grade and under will receive free admission. There will also be a free Terrier drawstring bag giveaway.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • BU entered the season with a 21-6-4 (.742) home record over the last three years and will be playing just its second home regular season game of the year following a loss to Boston College back on Aug. 27 … The Terriers did play the Haiti National Olympic Team to a 2-2 exhibition draw on Sept. 3 with both seniors Esen Harris and Eric Mubang tallying a goal.
  • The Terriers are scheduled to face all six in-state Division I foes with Harvard marking the fourth opponent following matchups against the Eagles, UMass and UMass Lowell ... BU is coming off a hard-fought 1-0 loss at UMass, while Harvard most recently earned a 1-1 draw against Northeastern.
  • BU is averaging an identical 10.8 shots as opponents while claiming a 25-9 advantage in corner kicks.
  • Freshmen Peter Kargbo and Elias Lampis are the lone Terriers to have started all five games.
  • Freshman William Bonnelyche has made the last three starts at net, posting a 2.00 goals against average and 0.571 save percentage … Sophomore Michael Bernardi has the other two starts with a 3.46 GAA and .600 save percentage. 
SCOUTING HARVARD
  • Harvard is on a two-game unbeaten streak with a 2-1 win at Providence and 1-1 draw against Northeastern following back-to-back losses to Xavier and UMass Lowell.
  • Paolo Belloni-Urso (1g, 1a) and Philip Hausen (1g, 1a) both have three points apiece to lead the Crimson … Matthew Glass has the team's other goal.
  • Goalkeeper Kyle Parks has played every second and owns a 1.89 goals against average with a 0.724 save percentage.
  • Harvard is averaging 4.5 corners and 10.8 shot attempts per game.
SERIES HISTORY
  • In a rivalry dating back to 1951, Harvard leads the all-time series, 25-15-8, though BU is 5-4-1 over the last 10 contests.
  • The Terriers own a 6-2-2 record against Harvard over the last 10 meetings at Nickerson Field, highlighted by a 3-0 win in 2015.
  • Last season at home, Harvard jumped out to a two-goal lead with scores in the 44th and 50th minutes and then withstood BU's successful 71st-minute penalty kick with an insurance goal in the 87th minute.
