BOSTON – In the final non-conference matchup of the regular season, the Boston University men's soccer team will host Northeastern on Tuesday night with action slated to begin at 7 p.m.

As past of a food drive, fans are encouraged to bring a canned good in order to receive a discounted ticket for the game.

The Terriers are looking to bounce back from Friday's 3-1 loss at Patriot League preseason favorite Loyola Maryland, while the Huskies are coming off a heartbreaking 1-0 OT defeat to Drexel this past weekend. Both teams are an identical 2-2-1 in their respective conference standings.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU shared two non-conference opponents with Northeastern ... Both teams claimed a 1-0 win against Holy Cross and fell to UMass Lowell.
  • The Terriers are home for the first time since a 0-0 draw to Lafayette on Oct. 6 ... That result marked BU's first 0-0 tie at home since 2014.
  • On Friday, junior Mana Chavali became the sixth Terrier to net a goal and the 11th to record at least one point this season.
  • Freshman Kari Petursson earned an assist on the goal and now is in a four-way tie for first on the team with three helpers.
  • Petursson is also tied for second on the team with seven points (2g,3a) alongside junior Satchel Cortet.
  • Cortet, leading scorer Matt McDonnell (6g) and sophomore Austin D'Anna (2g,1a) have combined for 13 missed contests due to injury.
  • Senior Mike Bernardi has a pair of shutouts this season in nine starts with a 1.37 goals against average and 0.768 save percentage ... He is currently the leader in saves for a game in the NCAA with 14 stops at Princeton.
  • Opponents are averaging 2.1 more shots per game.
SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN
  • The Huskies are 0-4-1 away from home with four one-goal losses and a 2-2 draw at William & Mary.
  • Held to just one goal this season in the first half, Northeastern is 2-3-1 in overtime games this season.
  • Ryan Massoud is one of six Huskies to score this season and owns a team-high nine points off four goals and one assist.
  • Both Martin Nygaard and Moustapha Samb have two goals apiece, while Harry Swartz and Adama Kaba have two assists apiece.
  • Owner of two shutouts, Noah Abrams has made seven starts and has tallied a 1.05 goals against average with a 0.750 save percentage ... Chandler Cree has made four starts, posting a 0.80 GAA and 0.852 save percentage.
  • Opponents have nearly doubled NU in corners (77-42) while averaging 2.4 extra shots per game.
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Terriers lead the all-time series, 21-7-2, in a rivalry dating back to 1984.
  • BU is on a four-game unbeaten streak with three wins and last year's 1-1 draw at NU ... The Terriers have also won the last three meetings at Nickerson Field with the last loss occurring in 2003. 
  • Last season, McDonnell struck first in the 37th minute, but the Huskies netted the equalizer in the 77th minute ... The team ended in a 1-1 draw with NU owning a slight 15-14 advantage in shots.
  • In the last meeting at Nickerson Field in 2016, the Terriers struck first at 18:20 and then took advantage of two NU red cards to claim a 3-0 victory ... BU finished with a 21-5 advantage in shot attempts.
