BOSTON – Returning to Case Gym, the Boston University women's basketball will welcome American for its Pla y 4 Kay game on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.

PL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

  • Nia Irving her second Patriot League Player of the Week honor of the season after averaging 21.5 points and 8.5 rebounds over the week to guide BU to back-to-back victories.
  • Irving willed the Terriers to a 66-64 overtime victory against Colgate on Wednesday, notching 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting to go with six rebounds. 
  • The sophomore followed with another stellar performance at Holy Cross on Saturday, posting her fifth double-double of the season with 24 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, to go with a game-high 11 rebounds.

CARRYING THE LOAD

  • Nia Irving leads the Patriot League with a .493 field goal percentage also leads the league with a .538 shooting mark in conference games.
  • Irving has led BU in both scoring and rebounding in each of the last three games and nine games overall this season.
  • The sophomore has shot above .600 percent in five Patriot League games, including two of the past three contests.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • Nia Irving leads the team in scoring (12.6) and rebounding (6.9).
  • Katie Nelson ranks second in scoring (10.1) and Corrine Williams follows (8.6).
  • Williams also ranks second on the team in rebounding (4.9) and is averaging 12.3 points per game over her last six games.
  • Katie Nelson ranks third in the Patriot League with 3.8 assists per game.
  • BU ranks second in the league with a .409 field goal percentage.
  • Over the last four games, the Terriers have shot above .400 percent and are averaging a .435 percent mark from the floor.

  • Emily Kinneston posted her first career in American's last contest, a 60-44 victory at Lehigh, with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Kinneston leads the league in assists (4.1) and ranks fifth in the league in scoring (14.9).
  • Cecily Carl leads the team with 8.4 board per game,  which ranks sixth in the league, and follows Kinneston in scoring (12.4).
  • Elina Koskimies leads the league with a .416 3-point field goal percentage, connecting on 1.6 triples per game.
  • American leads the league in free throw percentage (.759), field goal percentage (.415), 3-point field goal percentage defense (.296) and assist to turnover ratio (1.1).

THE SERIES

  • American is 8-3 against the Terriers since BU joined the Patriot League.
  • BU has split the regular season series against American in each of the past two seasons, though the Eagles have ended BU's season in the Patriot League Tournament for two straight years.
  • The Eagles won the opening matchup this season, 66-50, Jan. 17 in D.C.
