BOSTON - Patriot League play kicks off on Saturday, March 17 as the Boston University women's lacrosse team welcomes Lehigh. Opening draw from Nickerson Field is set for 3 p.m. 

LAST TIME OUT

  • Kelly Mathews netted the golden goal with 5:23 left in double overtime to guide BU to an 11-10 victory at Fairfield on Wednesday.
  • Avery Donahoe matched a career-high with six goals, including netting five of the Terriers' seven second-half goals.
  • Christine Laible picked up her first win of the season in net, finishing with 12 saves.
  • Wednesday marked the second straight season the Terriers and Stags needed overtime to decide the victor.

PATRIOT LEAGUE PLAY BEGINS

  • BU is 4-0 in Patriot League openers and 11-1 in conference openers under head coach Liz Robertshaw.

STUFFING THE STAT SHEET

  • Kailey Conry ranks second in the NCAA with 3.0 assists per game and is tied for No. 21 in the nation with 5.0 points per game.
  • The sophomore has led BU in goals, assists and points in three of its first five games games.
  • Conry is deadly when shooting on net, connecting on .909 percent.

HAT TRICKS

  • Avery Donahoe leads the team with 14 goals and owns three hat tricks this season.
  • Donahoe is the lone Terrier to have multiple hat tricks this season and found the back of the net nine times over the past two games.

PILING UP POINTS

  • Kailey Conry leads the team with a 20-game point streak dating back to last season.
  • Conry has 92 points over the past 20 games, with 69 of those coming on assists.
  • Avery Donahoe and Bridget McCarthy follow with five-game streaks.

THE LAST LINE

  • Maria Guerra leads the team with 14 ground balls and is tied for the team lead with seven caused turnovers.
  • Sarah Andersen has also impressed in her return to the field after missing the 2017 campaign due to injury.
  • Andersen is tied with Guerra for the team lead in caused turnovers (7) and ranks third (10) in ground balls.

SCOUTING LEHIGH

  • Riding a three-game win streak, Lehigh enters Saturday's contest with a 5-3 overall mark and has won each of its past two games by one goal.
  • The Mountain Hawks also scheduled a challenging non-conference schedule, as two of its loses have come against No. 12 Penn State (14-13, Feb. 17) and No. 14 Princeton (18-12, Feb. 27).
  • Courtney Henig ranks fourth in the Patriot League with 4.38 points per game.
  • The junior leads the Mountain Hawks in points (35), assists (21) and ranks third in goals (14).
  • Sophomore Sondra Dickey tops the team with 22 goals, matching her season total from her rookie campaign, and has posted six hat tricks this season.
  • Freshman Samantha Sagi has started all eight games in between the pipes, posting a 10.97 goals against average and .437 save percentage.

THE SERIES

  • BU holds a 4-3 advantage in the all-time series and is an even 3-3 in Patriot League matchups.
  • The past three matchups have been decided by one goal and four out of the seven matchups in the series have been decided by one goal.
  • BU led 10-7 with 20 minutes left in last season's contests, but the Mountain Hawks used a 6-0 run to steal a 13-12 victory on their home turf.
  • The Terriers are a split 2-2 at Nickerson Field against Lehigh.

  • The Terriers will return to the road as they visit Lafayette on Saturday, March 24.
