BOSTON - The Boston University women's lacrosse team returns home following a two-game road trip as it opens up the third annual Lax-A-Palooza on Saturday against No. 9 Loyola Maryland at Nickerson Field. Opening draw against the Greyhounds is set for noon.

LAX-A-PALOOZA

  • Saturday's Lax-A-Palooza festivities will begin at 11 a.m., with free food and a cash bar available all day.
  • There will also be a DJ and games in the concourse throughout the afternoon.
  • The men's squad will close out the doubleheader as it welcomes No. 19/17 Lehigh for a 3:30 p.m. start.
  • Fans can purchase tickets for the event by clicking here. BU students with Sports Pass will get free admission.

ONE LOVE

  • Saturday also marks the team's One Love and Alumni Game.
  • Maddie Curley was one of 10 finalist for the Yeardley Reynolds Love (YRL) Unsung Hero Award last year.
  • The award recognizes the accomplishments of two Division I lacrosse players (one male, one female) who demonstrate dedication, integrity, humility, hard work, community service, leadership, kindness and sportsmanship, all qualities that Yeardley Love exemplified throughout her life.
  • Curley organized workshops on campus with multiple groups, facilitated the workshop with Boston area schools and has been instrumental in organizing the last two One Love games.
  • BU won the Team One Love Hero Award for the men's and women's teams efforts in spreading relationship violence awareness throughout the campus and community.

TEWAARATON WATCH

  • Kailey Conry was added to the Tewaaraton Watch List on March 22.
  • Conry is the first sophomore in program history to be named to the Tewaaraton Watch List and is the first player to be named to the list since Danielle Estrasco '13.

STUFFING THE STAT SHEET

  • Kailey Conry leads the Patriot League and ranks 16th nationally with 2.25 assists per game and ranks fourth in the league with 4.13 points per game.
  • Conry connects on .811 percent of her shots on frame and has provided an assist in all eight games and scored in all but one.

PILING UP POINTS

  • Kailey Conry leads the team with a 23-game point streak dating back to last season.
  • Conry has 100 points over the past 23 games, with 72 of those coming on assists.
  • Conry is the only Terrier who has registered a point in all eight games this season.

HAT TRICKS

  • Avery Donahoe leads the team with 20 goals and owns four hat tricks this season.
  • Kailey Conry follows with two hat tricks, coming against Colgate and UMass Lowell.
  • Bridget McCarthy also posted three scores against UMass Lowell.

THE LAST LINE

  • Maria Guerra leads the team in ground balls (24) and caused turnovers (14).
  • Guerra is tied for second in the league with 3.0 ground balls per game and has collected nine over the last two games.
  • Sarah Andersen has also impressed in her return to the field after missing the 2017 campaign due to injury.
  • Andersen follows Guerra in caused turnovers (9) and ranks fourth (15) in ground balls.
  • Tonianne Magnelli ranks second on the team in ground balls (18) and has forced eight turnovers.

SCOUTING NO. 9 LOYOLA MARYLAND

  • Ranked No. 9 in the nation, Loyola enters Saturday's matchup carrying a 37-game win streak in Patriot League regular-season contests.
  • The Greyhounds boast the top offense in the league, averaging 16.0 goals per game and have reached double digit scoring figures in all nine games.
  • Hannah Powers leads the team with 34 points on 17 points and assists each.
  • Taylor VanThof and Frankie Kamely are tied for the team lead with 24 goals each.
  • VanThof is also the go-to on the draw control (60), while Livy Rosenzweig follows (38).
  • On defense, Lindsey Ehrhardt leads the team in ground balls (16) and caused turnovers (13).
  • Kady Glynn has started all nine games in net and has helped limit the last three opponents to score in single digits.
  • Glynn ranks third in the league in save percentage (.468) and fifth in goals against average (11.73).

THE SERIES

  • Loyola has taken the last seven matchups since both squads entered the Patriot League in 2014, and leads the all-time series 9-2.
  • The Greyhounds ended BU's season in the 2017 Patriot League tournament semifinals by a final score of 19-14.
