Women's Lacrosse Heads to No. 11 Navy for Regular Season Finale

BOSTON - The Boston University women's lacrosse team will close out the regular season as it heads to No. 11 Navy on Saturday, April 28. Opening draw from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is set for 1 p.m. 

PATRIOT LEAGUE PICTURE

  • With a win over Navy, BU would clinch the No. 4 seed in the Patriot League Tournament and host a quarterfinal matchup. 
  • If Colgate beats Lafayette and BU falls to Navy, the Raiders would claim the No. 4 seed and host the Terriers in the quarterfinals. 

SCOUTING NAVY 

  • Kelly Larkin leads the league in points per game (5.50), while Jenna Collins leads the league in goals per game (4.13). 
  • Nationally, Larkins ranks sixth in points per game and Collins ranks ninth (5.31). 
  • Collins also ranks sixth nationally in goals per game and leads the Mids in ground balls (40) and draw controls (79). 
  • Larkin earned her second Patriot League Attacker of the Week nod on Monday, while Collins was named the Midfielder of the Week for the third time this season. 
  • Julia Collins is also posting an outstanding season on the attack with 44 goals and 66 points. 
  • Blake Smith has guided the defense with 22 caused turnovers and 27 ground balls. 
  • Marie Valenti leads the team in caused turnovers (26) and ranks second in ground balls (39). 
  • In net, Ingrid Boyum has posted a .387 save percentage to go with a 10.82 goals against average over 15 starts. 

THE SERIES

  • Navy has taken the last four matchups to hold the 4-2 edge in the all-time series. 
  • Both of BU's wins came in one-goal decisions, while the Mids earned a one-goal victory last season at Nickerson Field, 15-14.
