BOSTON - The No. 5-seed Boston University women's lacrosse team will begin its quest for the Patriot League Tournament title as heads to No. 4 Colgate for a quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday, May 1. Opening draw from Beyer-Small '76 Field is set for 4 p.m.

TOURNAMENT TIME

  • BU is 5-4 all-time in the PL tournament and has advanced to the semifinals all four seasons since joining the league.
  • This will mark the first time the Terriers have gone on the road for a quarterfinal game and will mark the first postseason meeting with the Raiders.

SCOUTING COLGATE

  • The Raiders edged Lafayette, 13-12, in overtime on Saturday to clinch the No. 4 seed in the tournament.
  • Colgate scored three of the final four goals in the final five minutes to force overtime before Payton Gabriel scored the game-winner with 1:59 left in OT.
  • Haley O'Hanion leads the Raiders in goals (41), points (55), and caused turnovers (25).
  • O'Hanion ranks eight in the league with 2.56 goals per game.
  • Danielle Van Calcar leads the team with 18 assists and 68 draw controls.
  • Madeline Barcia ranks second with 18 caused turnovers and is tied for second in ground balls with O'Hanion (37).
  • Samantha Croston has started all 16 games in net and owns a .485 save percentage and 10.39 goals against average.

THE SERIES

  • BU holds the all-time series lead over the Raiders at 6-5, but is 2-3 in Patriot League games.
  • Colgate outlasted BU, 12-8, in the regular season matchup in Hamilton on March 28.
  • Colgate took advantage of a non-releasable penalty on the Terriers, scoring four goals in a two-minute span to take a 10-6 lead with 5:45 left and never looked back.
