RESULTS | WATCH SUNDAY

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The No. 2 Boston University women's lightweight rowing team placed two boats in Sunday's Grand Finals during the first day of lightweight racing at the IRA Championship Regatta.
 
The No. 2 ranked varsity eight boat will compete for a national title in Sunday's grand final at 7:44 a.m while the varsity four grand final is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. as Sunday's race times have been moved up to due to thunderstorms predicted later in the day.

The varsity eight and varsity four boats competed for lane assignments only on Saturday, with all boats moving on to Sunday's grand finals.
 
Varsity Eight

In its heat race, the No. 2 ranked varsity eight boat coasted to a second-place finish with a time of 6:42.79, behind race-winner Stanford (6:40.82) and ahead of Princeton (6:43.27), Georgetown (6:44.34), Wisconsin (6:44.79), MIT (6:50.01) and Harvard (6:50.51).
 
Varsity Four
(C - Antonella Kugler, 4 - Tamara Gelfman, 3 - Amy Connell, 2 - Samantha Wapner, 1 - Tenaya McCoy)
The V4 boat finished fourth in its heat race with a time of 7:46.02, ahead of Princeton (7:49.36) and MIT (7:52.53) and behind Stanford (7:21.81), Wisconsin (7:32.35) and Goergetown (7:36.12).
 
Double
(Gabrielle Hebden-Pearl, Peyton Lancaster)
The lightweight double raced in a morning heat race needing to finish first to advance directly to the grand finals. The 2x finished third in its heat and moved on to the repachage. In the repechage, the Terriers needed to finish in the top four to advance to the grand final but finished sixth with a time of 8:19.37. The BU 2x will move on to compete in the petite final tomorrow at 10:04 a.m.
