David Oluwadara of the Boston University men's track & field team earned second team All-America honors competing in the triple jump at the NCAA Track & Field Championships on Friday.
Oluwadara finished 13th at the NCAA Championships with a jump of 15.89m (52-1¾ ) in a field of 24.Â
Oluwadara advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship for the first time after finishing seventh at the NCAA East Regionals on May 26 with a leap of 16.00 meters ( 52'6"). He was one of 12 qualifiers to come out of the East and move on to Eugene, Ore.

The Boston, Mass. native qualified for NCAA East Regionals with his school-record mark of 16.21 meters (53' 2"), which he set on April 14th at the Auburn Tiger Classic.

Friday's championship was the culmination of a remarkable career for Oluwadara. In addition to advancing to the NCAA Championship this season, Oluwadara has won three-consecutive outdoor PL triple jump titles and also won the PL long jump title this season competing as a graduate student.

During his indoor career, Oluwadara won three consecutive PL triple jump titles and qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championship during his senior year, becoming the first Boston University horizontal jumper to qualify for the NCAA Championships since 1985. Oluwadara finished ninth at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships and was named a Second-Team All American.

Oluwadara leaves BU as the school record holder for both the indoor (16.07 meters - 52' 8.75") and outdoor (16.21 meters - 53' 2") triple jump.
