BOSTON – Looking to carry momentum from its strong offensive performance against Boston College, the Boston University men's soccer team will return home to host America East preseason favorite UMass Lowell on Friday night with a 7 p.m. start time.

As part of Rhett Out celebrating National College Colors Day, fans who wear BU gear will get a chance to win an Under Armour prize pack.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • BU was selected to finish second in the Patriot League preseason poll.
  • On Monday evening, the Terriers tallied three goals against Boston College for the first time since 2000 in the annual series ... The game marked the first time BU scored at least three goals on the road against a non-conference opponent since a 3-1 win at then-No. 25 Dartmouth in 2014.
  • Junior Matt McDonnell became the first Terrier since 2008 to tally a hat trick ... He now owns 10 career goals after claiming his first-career multi-goal performance.
  • Sophomore Toti Knutsson posted two assists in a game for the second time in his career with senior T.J. Butzke assisting on the other goal.
  • Sophomore William Bonnelyche recorded five saves against the Eagles after senior Mike Bernardi posted four in last Friday's 2-0 home loss to Rhode Island.
  • UMass Lowell marks the second of six in-state opponents on the schedule ... The Terriers are scheduled to host UMass and Northeastern while also visiting Harvard and Holy Cross.

SCOUTING UMASS LOWELL

  • UML was selected first in the America East preseason poll after posting a 10-7-1 record last year and falling to Albany in the conference title game in double overtime.
  • The River Hawks went 3-6-0 on the road compared to their 7-1-1 home mark.
  • The River Hawks opened the season at home last Friday with a 1-0 win over UMass and followed up this past Monday with a 1-1 draw against Quinnipiac.
  • MAC Hermann Watch List member Jakov Basic scored the game winner against the Minutemen and former America East Rookie of the Year Ivan Abramovic helped UML claim the draw.
  • Zach Rowell has played all 210 minutes at net and currently owns a 0.833 save percentage and 0.43 goals against average.

SERIES HISTORY

  • BU remains ahead in the all-time series, 4-2-0, after UML claimed a 2-0 home win last season to avenge 2015's 1-0 loss at Nickerson Field.
  • In 2017, Guilherme Rodrigues assisted on both River Hawk goals early in the first half with Abramovic and Richard Mulo both scoring ... Austin Kroll recorded four saves for the shutout, as UML finished ahead in shots, 9-7.
  • Three years ago at Nickerson Field, the Terriers scored in the 51st minute 
  • The previous four meetings took place from 1978-81 ... The Terriers won the first three contests, 8-0, 1-0 and 2-1, respectively ... UML edged BU, 1-0, at Nickerson Field in 1981.
  • UML is the result of a merger between Lowell State and Lowell Tech in 1975 ... The Terriers went 4-0-1 against Lowell Tech from 1955-59.
