BOSTON – Hosting Lehigh in its Patriot League Nickerson Field opener,
Chelsea Churchill's header in the 8th minute proved to be the game-winner as the Boston University women's soccer team downed the Mountain Hawks, 1-0, Saturday afternoon.
How It Happened
- Anna Heilferty worked her way down the right sideline before splitting a pair of defenders at the baseline with a volley towards the box.

- Lehigh had a chance to tie up the game in the 60th minute, as a Mountain Hawk slipped past the backline, but the ensuing shot sailed high.
- After a slow start to the second half, BU ramped up the pressure in the 64th minute when Taylor Kofton crossed in a feed from the far-right sideline that McKenna Doyle headed towards the post, but Lehigh's keeper made a diving save to keep it a one-goal game.
- The Mountain Hawks held a 7-5 edge in second-half shots, but Morgan Messner and the defense tabbed BU's second shutout of the season.
