BOSTON - The lone two undefeated teams in Patriot League play will square off on Saturday, Jan. 12 as the Boston University women's basketball team hosts Lehigh at Case Gym on Alumni Day. Opening tip is slated for 4 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • BU earned a 64-62 overtime victory at Loyola Maryland on Wednesday despite surrendering a 22-point lead early in the third quarter.
  • With the win, BU it off to its first 3-0 start in the Patriot League since joining the conference in 2013.
  • Head coach Marisa Moseley is the first first-year head coach in program history to win her first three conference games.
  • BU's starting lineup accounted for all 64 points, led by a 17-point outing by Katie Nelson.
  • Naiyah Thompson and Nia Irving each grabbed eight rebounds, while Payton Hauck dished out three assists and banked in the game-winning basket with 51 seconds left. 
  • Notching double-digit scoring figures in five straight games, Hauck has pushed her scoring average to 12.4 points per game, nearly double her scoring average from last season (6.9).
  • Nia Irving has scored in double figures in nine straight games, scoring at least 15 points in four of those contests, and has two double-doubles on the season.
  • Lauren Spearman has knocked down at least three triples nine times this season and is averaging 17.0 points over the last two games.
  • Katie Nelson has been heating up offensively, recording double-digit scoring figures in each of the last three games after scoring in double figures four times through the first 10 games. 

SCOUTING LEHIGH

  • Victors in five of its last six matchups, Lehigh holds the top winning percentage in the Patriot League with an 11-3 record.
  • Cameryn Benz put up a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds in the most recent outing against Holy Cross, guiding Lehigh to a 64-55 win.
  • Cameron Buhr leads the Mountain Hawks in scoring (12.0), notching double-digits in all but two games, while also leading the team in rebounding (6.6).
  • Gena Grundhoffer follows in scoring with 8.7 points per game, while Hannah Hedstrom is handing out 2.8 assists per game.
  • The starting lineup of Benz, Buhr, Grundhoffer, Hedstrom, and Hailey Pascoe have started all 14 games together.
  • As a team, Lehigh leads the league in scoring defense (54.7), field goal percentage defense (36.3) and scoring margin (11.4).

THE SERIES

  • Lehigh swept the Terriers last year to take a 7-6 all-time lead in the series.
  • The Mountain Hawks have won seven of the last nine contests.
  • BU is 2-3 at Case Gym against Lehigh.
