BOSTON - Breaking for a true road trip for the first time in over two weeks, the Boston University women's basketball team will start a two-game tour at Navy on Saturday, Jan. 26. Opening tip from Alumni Hall is scheduled for 4 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • BU closed out four straight home games in Massachusetts with a 64-51 defeat to American Wednesday at home.
  • Payton Hauck led the Terriers with 12 points, all coming in the second half.
  • Nia Irving fell just shy of her third straight double-double, notching 10 points to go with nine rebounds. 
  • Irving has scored in double figures in 13 straight games, scoring at least 15 points in six of those contests, and has four double-doubles on the season.
  • After averaging 1.2 points per game through her first three seasons, Lauren Spearman ranks third on the team with a 10.3 scoring average.
  • Katie Nelson leads team with 3.5 assists per game, which ranks fourth in the Patriot League, and has upped her scoring average to 12.1 points per game in conference matchups.
  • Payton Hauck is posting another efficient season, ranking second on the team in scoring (12.6) and shooting percentage (46.5).
  • After missing two games due to injury, Childs has returned to average 8.7 points on 66.6 percent shooting to go with 6.7 rebounds over the last four games.

SCOUTING NAVY

  • The Mids are coming off two straight road losses, most recently dropping a 55-42 decision at Lafayette on Wednesday.
  • Navy boasts the top scoring defense in the Patriot League, surrendering just 55.0 points per game, which includes a 52.3 opponent average in conference games.
  • The Mids are also efficient with the ball, as they lead the league with a 3.29 turnover margin.
  • Freshman sensation Jennifer Coleman leads the team in points (12.2), rebounds (7.7) and assists (2.6) per game.
  • Sophie Gatzounas is posting a solid sophomore line of 8.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
  • Kolbi Green is the top threat from beyond-the-arc with 27 makes and ranks right behind Coleman in scoring (8.9).
  • The lone senior on the team, Bianca Roach ranks third in the league with 2.1 steals per game.

THE SERIES

  • Navy has taken the last four matchups to improve to 9-2 all-time against the Terriers.
  • Three of the last five matchups have been decided by three points or less.

  • BU will stay on the road as it heads to Lafayette for a 6 p.m. contest on Wednesday, Jan. 30 to close out the month.
