Terriers Compete at John Thomas Terrier Classic

RESULTS

BOSTON -
 The Boston University men's track & field team hosted the John Thomas Terrier Classic at BU's Track and Tennis Center on Saturday. The Terriers competed against a very large and talented field made up of more than 1,500 athletes representing 150 teams including hundreds of post-collegiate athletes.

The Terriers had several notable performances, including freshman Marcel Aubry  who finished third among collegians on the 1000m run with an time of 2:27.14, fifth best in the Patriot League this season. Sophomore Nikolas Smith took fifth among collegians in the 500m dash with a time of 1:05.21.

 NOTABLE PERFORMANCES 
  • Freshman Marcel Aubry made his debut in the 1000 meter run and finished third among collegians with an excellent time of 2:27.14, fifth best in the Patriot League this season.
  • Sophomore Nikolas Smith took fifth among collegians in the 500m dash with a time of 1:05.21. Also in the 500m, junior Jamin Harris finished 29th overall with a time of 1:07.45 while senior Robie Webster finished 33rd with a time of 1:08.78 in a field of 49.
  • Junior Michael Huber competed in the 800m run and finished with a time of 1:57.78, in 70th place in a field of 140 while freshman Hayden Jennings finished in 1:59.15 (77th).
  • Senior Johnathon Kemps competed in the 1-mile and finished with a time of 4:08.96 and in seventh place among collegians in a field of 158 runners.
  • In the field, freshman Declan Ritzenthaler finished tied for second in the pole vault with a 4.65m (15'3") effort, tying his personal best.
  • Senior Clint Lockwood competed in the weight throw and scored a personal best of 14.93m (48'11.75") to finish 15th. Lockwood also competed in shot put and finished 10th with a throw of 14.68m (48'2"). 

NEXT UP
The Terriers will host the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational at the TTC on Feb. 2.
