BOSTON - Entering the final push of the regular season, the Boston University women's soccer team will break from Patriot League play as it welcomes Harvard as part of a Nickerson Field doubleheader on Tuesday, Oct. 15 for its non-conference finale. The Terriers will kick off against the Crimson at 4 p.m. before the men's team has its chance against the cross-town Ivy League foe at 7 p.m. in the nightcap.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU recorded a season-high 20 shots, but could not find the back of the net as it fell 1-0 to Lehigh on Saturday.
- The Terriers have protected Nickerson Field, shutting out their opponent in five of six home games this season, and have not allowed a goal on their home turf in 311 minutes of game play.
- Ashley Raphael leads the team in points (5) and is tied for the lead in goals (2) with Shannon Keefe.
- Amanda Fay and Morgan Messner, who have rotated starts in net, each own three shutouts.
SCOUTING HARVARD
- Harvard is riding a six-game win streak, which includes shutting out its last four opponents to raise its record to 9-2 overall and 3-0 in Ivy League play.
- Angela Caloia leads the Ivy League in assists (10) and assists per game (.90), and has provided at least one helper in five of the last six matches.
- Sophie Hart and Gabby DelPico are tied for the lead in goals (5), while Murphy Agnew and Caloia follow with four goals apiece.
- Kat Hess has been the Crimson's primary keeper, earning six starts and holds a .500 goals against average to go with a .862 save percentage.
THE SERIES
- The Terriers earned a dramatic overtime victory in last seaon's matchup against the Crimson, benefitting from an own goal in the 89th minute to force extra time, where Lauren Adelman ended the game in the 96th minute to seal a 2-1 victory.
- BU holds a 9-7-5 edge in the all-time series and has had the upper hand recently, winning eight of the last 12 games and has dropped only one contest during that stretch.
- Five of the last eight matchups have gone into overtime, including two double overtime results.
